THE ANSWER PHOTO CONTEST #1

Answer: "Thank you for all that participated on the Crazy Car Contest Jan/Feb 2002. The charade turned out to be quite challenging, and very few people were able to figure out what this crazy vehicle is used for. So if you were able to guess correctly, CONGRATULATIONS! The answer was actually quite simple. This vehicle is designed to tow (launch and remove) big hulled fishing boats and yachts to and from the water. It is not a vehicle to drive big distances, just enough to get the boat and its trailer in and out of the water.

Some good clues to its function/purpose were its height, its big engine, the fact that it is a 1 person vehicle, and the rust on the chassis. The photo was taken in Cholla Bay/Puerto Penasco, Sonora - Mexico (2001). There is a good number of these vehicles in this small fishing/vacation town in North Western Mexico, but it must be a creation of a resourceful local mechanic, as we have yet to see this type of vehicle anywhere else!
